CTBC Bank of Canada

CTBC is a bank with its headquarter in Taiwan. As a Taiwanese myself, I thought I should support them but I won’t. They lack of knowledge to Canadian laws in terms of will executor and probate process. I escalated my concern to a position probably translated as Assistant/Vice General Manager to the bank questioning CTBC’s refusal to release information to me as a Will Executor. The answer I got is that it’s what their lawyers advise them to do to deny my request. However it’s contrary to the practice of all other Canadian banks such as RBC, BMO and TD Bank. I won’t advise my circle to have GIC in this bank until they are straight with Canadian laws and practices.
